api software, inc. is the leading provider of time and attendance, staffing/scheduling, payroll, human resource, productivity management, education tracking and access control software for healthcare organizations. The privately owned company is located in Hartford, WI. With more than 500 installations in the United States, API has customers ranging in size from 500 employees to more than 30,000 employees.
API has always concentrated on developing its own products that align with the company's strategic goals, instead of adopting the business practices of many large technology vendors, which is to acquire other companies and technologies to increase market share. Instead, API combines over 20 years of industry expertise with information collected from healthcare focus groups, surveys and client interviews, to internally develop solutions that meet the needs and wants of the healthcare industry.

Named a 2002 Best In KLAS Performance award recipient in the specialty niche category, the Payrollmation® Series continues to be the top-rated time and attendance system in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006.
The Payrollmation time and attendance system was named a finalist in the administrative/financial systems category for the eighth annual MS-HUG (Microsoft Healthcare Users Group) awards. These awards showcase the most innovative solutions and customers of Microsoft® technology in the healthcare industry. API has won the award four times and has been named a finalist seven other times.
